Visit Felicity Mann & her Mechanical Horse!
Felicity Mann is a BHSI and a certified teacher of the Alexander technique,and helps riders from all disciplines,eventing,dressage and endurance and being involved with parpriders.
The day with Felicity will be split into two.
The morning will be spent working with
Felicity learning the gentle movements of the Alexander technique,which teaches us to use our bodies in balance as efficiently as possible, with the minimum effort.
The afternoon is then spent with Felicity's mechanical horse.You each will get time to ride the mechanical horse and Felicity with help you make small adjustments necessary to create a balnced and more effective riding position.
Open to all. The cost will be £50 per person for the day. Lunch can be taken in the local pub (extra cost) or you are welcome to bring a picnic. Groups of 4-6 people. You will need to make your own way there, or come as a group and car share.You will need to wear comfortable top and trousers for the morning and your riding hat and clean boots for the afternoon. Jabeena is coach to the British Modern Pentathlon team and is a " Guru" in the show jumping world. It has been said that she has forgotten more about horses than most of us will ever know! She is great at producing young horses and for sorting out any jumping problems you may have. On top of that she is just a great teacher of SJ at all levels and her clinics come highly recommended.

Instruction with Terry Cross, BHSAI
For those who do not know Terry, she is a brilliant instructor for all standards, she has competed successfully at show jumping, eventing and also up to a very high standard of dressage. Terry teaches everyone from beginners to those at a high standard with the same enthusiasm and skill. She manages to understand their problems and calm their fears.
Starting at about 11am.
The cost depends on numbers but will be roughly between £17 and £12.
The clinics are generally flat followed by some jumping for those who want it. Please book before 6th April
Terry teaches in Long Bredy during the week, either individual or groups again let me know if you want to know more details.

Three Counties Bridlepath Group
Golden Cap Ride
This is a marvellous trail ride of approximately 12 miles (with shorter alternatives). It is a rare opportunity to participate in Access Week and ride across National Trust land not normally accessible on horse back. The majority of the ride is off road on tracks and across fields and there are glorious views of coast & countryside from Golden Cap, Eype Down, Chardown, and Stonebarrow.

Tack, Rug and Horse Marking Awareness Day
Bridport Rural East Safer Neighbourhood Team along with Milton Equine Veterinary Clinic are holding a tack, rug and horse marking awareness day.
9am and 4pm
Visitors will also have the opportunity to have their horse microchipped and/ or freeze marked. Freezemarking and Microchipping will be available on the day, by appointment only, these services will be offered at a special discounted rate. Information will be available about all of the services provided on the day, so if your not sure about freezemarking or microchipping your horse please feel free to discuss this with out trained and qualified staff on the day. All tack and rug marking will be free of charge no need to book- just turn up on the day.

She is a professional therapist specialising in mobilising muscles, improving performance and educating horse owners. Fun Trec Competition
This is an opportunity for you to come and have a go at the obstacle part of Trec. Some of you might be familiar with this having seen it at our summer show.
Although we are running it as a competition it is very much designed to be a friendly fun day. You will be guided through the obstacles by an instructor and there will be plenty of help at hand (should you need it!!!).

This clinic is aimed at those of you who would love to start learning to jump but are not sure how to go about it! The one hour sessions will guide you through the basics starting with some grid work and then IF you so wish progressing to very small jumps.
Tracy is a fantastic instructor with endless patience and will make the whole experience fun at the same time you will be amazed at how much more confident you will become. Some of you might remember Tracy at the ODE event we held back in the summer, if so, you will remember how friendly she is and not at all scary!!!!

Countryside and Equine Fair- POSTPONED
From 7pm
Over 20 craft stalls to see, fantastic raffle with lots and lots of prizes, and great tasting homemade mince pies. Come and get some of your Christmas presents or just have a nice friendly evening out. Also the local policeman Tim Poole will be there to postcode stamp your saddles and other tack. Great evening out, and the proceeds of the fair will be going to the 'Help The Heroes' and the riding club. Please bring your friends.There are still a few stalls available if you would like one to sell some of your things.

Pilates for Riders
Restarting Mon 22/11/10 7pm – 8pm (then each Monday until Christmas)
Julia Baker BSc (Hons) MCSP, Chartered Physiotherapist will be running her pilates class again this winter. This time it will be at Litton Cheney Village Hall which has UNDERFLOOR heating so should be much more comfortable! Everyone enjoyed it last year and agreed that we got a lot out of it. Christmas Trec-POSTPONED

Due to our popular Trec that we held in October we have now decided to run another obstacle course with Christmas in mind! As always there will be plenty of help at hand and our instructor will take you round each obstacle explaining how to gain maximum points from each one, however if there is any obstacle that either you or your horse wish to leave out you just move on to the next, it is designed to be challenging but not frightening!!
Look forward to seeing you all there even if it's just for a mince pie and a chat!!

Starting around 11.30ish depending on numbers.
Terry has been giving these clinics monthly now for some time and they are proving popular with all standards of riders, they mostly consist of flat work but jumping can be incorporated if wanted.
The cost varies according to numbers on the day but is around £12 to £30. If you want to have an individual session that can be arranged. If the weather is bad it will be down to you to contact me to find out if it is going ahead!

Senior Dressage Training
Area 12 are holding the Area Dressage at Pontispool Equine Centre. The Riding Club are looking for senior riders to take part and represent 'The Shipton Riding Club Senior Team'. I have organised some Senior Dressage Training with Gill Longhurst.
Gill has, in the past done some dressage clinics for the club, so some of you may know her from there, but Gill has a great teaching way, which just gets the best out of you and your horse.
There is a second date for Gills training in January. The training days will start at 10am.Groups of 2 for 1 hour, the cost is £15 per rider.
